Side sleeper

Alli finally rolled!! I know this only means trouble, right? This girl is definitely on the move. She has become so squirmy while changing her diaper. She is so curious about everything around her and wants to touch and eat it! So yesterday I put her down for a nap and she had no desire to go to sleep yet even though she was rubbing her eyes. So I check her on the monitor and this is what I find! She had turned herself completely sideways in the crib and had one foot through the crib slats. Stinker! So I put her back in the crib the right way and tucked her back in. I kept checking on her through the monitor and as I am watching her I realize she is rolling to her side. She had never done that before. She would roll her torso but she had never, NEVER rolled her legs and her torso at the same time. Well she rolled to her side and fell asleep there. So I guess this is her new thing because when I put her to bed last night this is what I found later in the night.

Isn't she adorable??
My little side sleeper is growing up so fast! I can't believe it. I look at her and can't believe she is 6 inches longer than she was when she was born. She's gotten so big. She'll be a year old before I know it. Such a little (BIG) personality.

5 inches...really?

We were skeptical about this winter storm...It proved to be a true winter storm. I would much rather have had just the snow but I guess we will have to just deal with the ice. So I'm stuck at home for 2 days with no where to go. It took an hour just to get my car uncovered from all the ice. Here are a few pics.
The dogs showing Alli some love...a little too much love.
I didn't keep her out very long because she still has a cough and I didn't want her in the wind and cold very long. I just couldn't pass up her first big snow! This is the best picture I could get. She had a hard time sitting up in her poofy columbia outfit! I'm so glad we've been able to use it twice.

RSV

Alli officially has RSV. BOO! She just had her shots Thursday and developed a little cough over the next few days. We didn't think a whole lot of it because it was so rare that she coughed and we were not sure if the runny nose was from the shots or from a cold. Then this morning the cough was more frequent and it sounded wet...so we knew something was up. We took her to grandpa and sure enough...RSV. We caught it pretty early so we're hoping that if we keep her nose salined and suctioned that it won't get too bad. The fever can set in over the next day or so and can last 4 days. The cough will progressively get worse and she can have it for 10 days! Poor baby! We have breathing treatments for her if it gets bad. Hopefully it won't. So I may be home bound for a while....

Visit with Carter

We went the other day to Winchester to have some allergy tests run. While there, we took the opportunity to visit Ashley and Carter. Alli couldn't keep her hands off of Carter. She must adore the little stud!

6 month check up

Well Alli had her 6 month well care check today. She currently weighs 15 lbs and is 25 1/4 inches long. She has grown more in length than in weight so her percentages are much better this visit. She is now in the 48th % instead of the 80th % like last time. Doc was very pleased by this and said she looks great. She didn't care for her shots (like any child would) but she was easily calmed by the distraction of her noisy book toy. So all in all a good day.

My little jumping bean

Alli wanted to show everyone how much she loves her jumper!

It's about time Publix!!

Well the holidays and their sales have come and gone. I've been watching the Publix B1G1 sales for the last couples weeks with some frustration. The items that have been on sale were not items that we needed, would use, or even wanted! So this week I perused the sale circular and wasn't very excited. The more I looked at it though, the more I realized wait...these are things we would use! The best part is that a lot of what was on sale were high priced items. So I was ticked to be able to save as much as I did. So it was time to stock up while I could get them cheap!I was able to get the Voila meals in a bag, V8 Splash, Quaker Oats Chewy Granola bars, Fruit roll ups (Ben likes these), Lenders Bagels, Del Monte canned vegetables, Duncan Heines brownies, Swiss Miss Cocoa, Kelloggs Cereal for B1G1!!!! It was great. The best part is that the deals were good enough that I was able to get other sale items and items that we just "needed" and still be able to keep overall cost savings at 50%.
Total before sales and coupons: $128.6
Total Publix and coupon savings: $65.36
Total cost after savings: $63.24!! Woo hoo
This was a great way to start the new pay period since Ben just got paid today. We are definitely good on groceries for a week or more!

I guess I've got the bug

I guess I've got the scrapbooking bug. Since I didn't start scrapbooking when Alli was born, I'm a little behind. So that's why I'm doing so many here in a short amount of time.

Promotion update

Well Ben interviewed the other day for the driver promotion. The interview went as well as it could have. Today he received an email stating that due to budget constraints the city has put a 30 day hiring and promotion freeze into effect. So we won't know anything for a month. What else is new? heh.

Still scrapbooking. I'm really excited about how some of these pages are turning out. I have been able to find some really cute quick pages which have allowed me to just add in pictures. My biggest problem is being creative with my own pages. It isn't uncommon for me to spend 1 hour on 1 page...I know...silly but I'm very particular and not very creative. So I spend tons of time looking at other people's pages and try to see if I can recreate it or make it look similar. So here are the most recent pages. 3 of the 5 were quick pages and made this super easy!

Just a little something

I thought I wasn't going to scrapbook anymore but a lot of that had to do with me not feeling like I had a reason to. Now that Alli is here...I have a reason. Here is the beginning of her album.

Not one but two

I took Alli to see Ben at work today. He was playing with her and said, "Hey did you see her other tooth?" I said, "No, what other tooth?" I got Alli to open her mouth and sure enough, she is getting her second tooth in to the right of the first. Woo hoo...So far she hasn't gotten the runny nose with this tooth coming in. Hopefully it stays that way. I'm still hoping to get a picture soon.
